Full disclosure –– we have a dilemma. Because our unique therapeutic practices are so effective (sometimes seeming to border on the magical), our offerings come with the inherent challenge of being difficult to clearly explain without sounding like hype or new-age mumbo jumbo. Please bear with us as we attempt to do justice to the combination of healing tools we use that, although rooted in established principals, still defy full description of how they work. We call our suite of healing modalities “True Resonance Method™” because the most effective healing occurs when the client is in harmony with both the Awaken therapist and the tools he or she uses. More specifically, we guide our clients to untangle themselves from old patterns that are no longer beneficial to them and integrate their breath and movement using guided imagery and meditation which trigger the inner healing response. To further activate this transformation on a deep level, we use bliss-inducing sound healing played on instruments and voice which washes over both client and therapist, cleansing the space around them so the True Resonance vibe can establish itself in the client and last beyond the session. Most people feel like they floated home.

A Complete Approach to Health & Wellness

Our clients seek individual yoga therapy sessions to get relief from a myriad of health symptoms or conditions that inhibit them from living a pain free, fuller and healthier life. These sessions are structured in a 1:1 forum to empower clients to participate proactively in decisions regarding their health and well-being. They create accountability on the client side to commit to their personal well-being by effecting small and positive changes consistently in their lives. Based on a comprehensive review of medical and lifestyle factors, we teach clients valuable yoga-based self-care tools and techniques that are customized to their unique needs. Our clients report dramatic quality of life improvements in just a few weeks as they continue their existing medical treatment protocols.

Introductory Session

The initial meeting is an information gathering and alignment session to build rapport and establish a direction for growth with the client. Communication with clients around their current medical treatment and health practitioner network will be established early on to inform future 1:1 sessions. We will then develop client specific practices and routines based on a comprehensive intake. Typically, six to eight sessions are recommended; with sessions scheduled at one to two week intervals at the onset and then tailored to individual needs and scheduling considerations.

Private and Small Group Sound Healing:

Sound has a powerful influence on our well-being, both positively –– and in our modern and noisy world, negatively. Sound can shape our moods and attitudes very quickly –– think about how hard it is to be at peace in the chaos of rush hour traffic, or when a child throws a loud, inexplicable tantrum, or being near the whining undulating sound of a leaf blower or a jack hammer that never stops. Today, most of the sounds we experience fall on the negative side, and do us the dis-service of immediately compromising our nervous system.

To live our best life we need to neutralize this effect on a regular basis and especially during busy times. Coincidentally, the best way to offset the impact of this daily sonic assault is not silence, but sound… different sound. Sound that soothes and heals… think of the effect of hearing a sweet, flowing musical composition, or the soft purring of a cat on your lap, or a whisper from your beloved… these are all good, but there is something even better. Long ago, around the world, monks discovered that the round and gorgeous sound generated by “singing bowls” helped to slow down brain waves and induce deep meditative states, clarity of mind and more insightful intuition.

Awaken Yoga Therapeutics finds out what your specific needs are and puts together a custom sound healing experience that combines the impossibly beautiful sounds of the Crystal and Tibetan singing bowls to relieve and release bunched up nervous tension and disharmony.  If you presently have an injury or emotional disharmony, you can make this the focal point of your session. It’s more about allowing rather than doing.

Many attendees refer to our workshops with a knowing smile as “mini-vacations” or “little retreats,” a time just for them that allows sinking into a deep relaxation that furthers their practice and empowers the unraveling of old pain structures in their bodies and minds.
